Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre -Guided Tour & Medicine Bag Workshop #2
This workshop begins with a traditional welcome song inside the Cultural Centre, followed by a fifteen-minute film about the Squamish and Lil’wat Nations and their connection to land and place. After a guided exhibit tour by a Cultural Ambassador, we will engage in a workshop on making a handmade medicine bag.
“Use buckskin, beads and hide lacing to craft a handmade medicine bag! Traditionally, medicine bags were used to hold medicinal herbs or treasures that provide protection for the wearer who may be on a spirit quest, hunting and gathering, journeying to a neighbouring community, or everyday protection and reminders.”
